The landscape

Search platforms, retailers, cloud providers, live-video engines and creative tools all want try-on. None yet covers every garment, every body and every channel.

2.1Who is building try-on

Try-on has attracted search platforms, retailers, cloud providers, live-video engines and creative tools. Each group solves part of the problem for its own purposes.

2.2Where the gaps are

  • Coverage of garments. Layered outfits, draped garments and cultural clothing are poorly served.
  • Coverage of bodies. No published audit of try-on by skin tone or body shape was found.
  • Closed engines. Live try-on exists, but on closed engines under terms that most businesses cannot build a product on.
  • Reach. Platforms serve their own shoppers. Independent stores, marketplaces and retailers in most markets have no neutral, ready-to-use option.
  • Affordability. Live and video try-on are not yet within reach of most businesses.

2.3Where FabricVTON fits

We do not need to win every dimension. We aim to be the try-on platform that works for the garments and shoppers the field neglects, that any business can adopt, and that brings live try-on within reach of the world. We expect the largest platforms to stay strong in their own ecosystems and the leading live engines to stay strong in general live video. Our opportunity is fashion, in every market, for every business.
